Last night I decided to work towards a plan for some larger paintings I want to do for the large solo show I will be doing next year. As I began I felt like I was such an amateur and so I just started playing with my new crayons, CARANd’ACHE NEOCOLOR II AQUARELLE. These crayons are the brand Betty Franks recommends in her online art course, and they are water soluble. I haven’t tried them with water yet, though, this doodle was done completely dry on sketch paper. They are super saturated with pigment and are a dream to work with. So, taking a cue from Betty Franks I started playing and scribbling and gradually turning my scribbles into something more distinct.
