More than our 5 Senses … Happiness, Depression

The 5 senses of tasting, touching, seeing, hearing, and smelling are experienced on this physical plane, but there are limitless states of being and perception based on our emotional feelings. Life is experienced differently when we feel happy versus when we feel depressed. The different emotions are something we find ourselves experiencing based on what is happening in our life, YET, I have also experienced being able to shift from one emotional state to another by shifting my awareness to that emotional place/dimension/bubble.

This makes me consider the possibility that those dimensions of emotional feelings are around us all the time and we are capable of popping in and out of them based on our choices at any moment.

Emotions can be catching too. When someone enters the room and have such a bubbly happy and bright energy around them, it is easy to feel that and even get caught up in that feeling. Also, when someone is experiencing hopelessness and depression, that depression can creep onto us. I have heard the term, “Succumbing to depression.” That fits here. Like giving ones self over to a feeling and letting it envelope us.

The problem with depression is that when we are in it, we don’t feel any hope of getting out of it. That seems to be a property of depression. But I know from experience that depression is an energy bubble we are experiencing. We can get out of it.

Here are a couple experiments to try:

  1. Consciously move your point of awareness to the energy dimension/place/bubble of happiness by imagining that energy bubble in front of you and moving your awareness into it.
  2. Ask yourself the sacred question, “How can I heal this?” over and over, and surrendering to the answers, whatever comes back to you when you surrender to nothingness.

Life is much more than our 5 senses. We have more power over our emotional states than most of us realize. Below are a couple great books on navigating the emotional energy dimensions we live in.

  1. “The different emotions are something we find ourselves experiencing based on what is happening in our life..”
Right. And all emotions are valid and important and part of the sublime. Grief, joy, etc. When we get stuck in depression, we are allowing external circumstances to dictate and control our journey.

“YET, I have also experienced being able to shift from one emotional state to another by shifting my awareness to that emotional place/dimension/bubble”

Exactly. This is the act of actively authoring our lives and futures. We recognize when we are stuck. We shift. We create a new direction. Very good 😊
And yes, ask how we can heal. Also ask, what have I learned… We are here to learn.
